Design and Analysis of a Broadband Microwave Metamaterial Absorber

In this article, a broadband metamaterial absorber suitable for the S, C, and X bands is designed manufactured. The made of FR-4 substrate, resonant metal structure, lumped resistance, backplate, has unit size 0.11λ L , total thickness 0.084λ . absorption principle analyzed using equivalent medium theory parametric research. calculation results show that achieves more than 90% (relative bandwidth 130%) between 2.7 GHz 12.7 GHz, good polarization angle incidence insensitivity, uses electromagnetic resonance to explain its characteristics, experiments confirm absorption. proposed higher simpler construction previously described absorber, it potential practical applications in EMC, radar, protection.
